| Masseria Montelauro is located in the hinterland from Salento, 2 kilometers from Otranto and the sea, in the peaceful silence of the countryside. We restored the Farmhouse, built in 1878, with full respect for its original nature, just as we have retained all the colors and fruits that have always characterized our countryside in the garden that surrounds it. The only modern touch: the swimming pool in the inner court surrounded by the orchard. The Farmhouse has 27 rooms, 1 suite and 1 junior suite created in the ancient structure of a monastery.
What we offer is made unique by the Mediterranean atmosphere of our interiors and by our passion for discreet hospitality. Just as our Salento cuisine is unique: dishes that are sometimes forgotten but that are unforgettable. Each room has independent entry to the garden, is furnished with care to details and is endowed with all comforts: air conditioning, telephone and set-up for Internet connection, fridge bar, hairdryer, beach towel, safe, TV.

Lights turn on like candles. The garden aperitif is the time to meet other guests and chat with us, planning a new itinerary, or the time to read a book.Evening air at Montelauro is permeated by the bouquets of our kitchen, reserved exclusively to our guests.
The night is full of promises: open the salon on the panoramic terrace to admire the stars, enjoying a sweet wine in the midst of carpets and cushions. But the curtain also rises on Otranto: a land of performances and surprises in the medieval atmosphere of the narrow lanes around the castle, in the nightclubs perched on the cliffs … from here you return to your rooms, lighting the lantern and letting the heat of the day disperse in the nocturnal breeze.

Waking up at Montelauro is a beam of sunlight that illuminates the stone vaults of the rooms. It is the twittering of doves and swallows that have chosen our garden as their dwelling.
You can enjoy your breakfast in the shaded bower, where you’ll have time to decide whether to rest on the edge of the pool or go to the sea, ride horseback or a bicycle, walk between olive groves and country walls, discover the panorama of the finis terrae coastline from a boat … or you may also discover that a course is being held on Salento cuisine or a session of tai chi.
