The age of its construction dates back to another century yet with its structures of today, constitutes elements of rare characteristics.

Between these two characteristics assume considerable importance “times a star”, “a cask” and thick walls that render a coolness inside of the Masseria Salmenta. Along the roads that encircle the structure you can catch sight of and visit the ancient sheep pens which at one time were used as a shelter for the flock or the tower which was partially used like a bunker during World War II.

The building is immersed amongst the green pine forests and is approximately 70 hectares of land and is encircled with spacious tree lined roads in which it is possible to take quiet walks and long excursions.

The Masseria Salmenta is situated on the provincial road of Leverano – Porto Cesareo and is a distance of only 1 kilometer away from the Mar Ionio. Within a few minutes by car, it is easy to reach Gallipoli, Otranto, Portoselvaggio, Torre Colimena, Sant’Isidoro, Santa Maria al Bagno, Santa Caterina, and Nardò

LODGINGS

At present day following restoration preserving the original aspect of the structure, the complex consists of 12 comfortable apartments with varying degrees of size and with the availability of accommodating anywhere from two to nine persons. Several types of apartments and studio apartments are available.

Some have original characteristics of originality dating back to the times of the century while others are more of the present day modern age. All of these have been recently restructured and have modernized conveniences. The apartments are well equipped with mosquito nets and matteresses in the bedrooms; refrigerator, dishes, cooking pans, and other kitchen accessories, water heater, and accessories in the bathrooms. However, the apartments do not come equipped with sheets, blankets, table clothes and other fabrics or materials.
